You can't, unfortunately.

You could make him a Master Of Signals and give them +1BS in lieu of shooting, as well as having a Bombardment attack first turn. The same problem as Librarians arises though, you'd need a second HQ to use as your mandatory.
40K - Tyranids (4500 Points) & Chaos - The Purge and the Brazen Host (8500 Points)
30K - Death Guard (2000ish Points), Sons of Horus (175 Points because Loken) + World Eaters, soon.
Project Log

I feel he needs a decent save to survive in the tac so probably specialists. Ny plan is to later on add autilion skor. Lets you choose warlord trait and is a decent cc brawler with strong gear. Then switch the centurion for other funky roles like MoS or moritat

Good shout there! Skorr also gives you access to Rites of War.

Lots of discussion ,I like it.

My two cents on your list Matt is that I'd keep the close chat many weapons on the tac squads (but I'm a blood angel player that would love that option) I'd also think about bringing something instead of the whirlwind as with three(!) Thud guns I think you've got anti horde barrage covered. Maybe a pred annihilator for taking out such things as wave serpents and vindicators. It's all personal preference though and seeing what works for you.

I have no idea what to add to my force at 1000pts thinking of 30 termagaunts, upgrades to warriors so they actually do something and toxin sacs on the stealers so if a talos charges my genestealers again it will regret it! Either that or a flying hive tyrant...

The reason i like the extra CC is that i know im gonna get into combat with blobs, have no dedicated CC unit and lack ATSKNF. 31 attacks on the charge is pretty nasty from a unit with a 3+ save i think.

As its just an upgrade i could always bolt them on later when i start to come up against higher model counts.

The whirlwind brings some high strength ap3 to the table for taking on heavier units but i take your point. Maybe bring a contemptor mortis or retool my rapiers to laser destroyers. The former costs money. The latter saves me points but i loose the quad mortars and their -1 ld pinning.

I am also aware of the sheer number of marines in the campaign so i like the ap3 on the scorpius.

So many choices.

My only complaint with the extra CC weapons is the price - but it's a great option later on.

Will - any of those will be good options! Gotta say the Flyrant is a bit of a wet noodle when he's forced to glide, may be worth hanging on until the 1250 stage for that one and going for the bodies or Toxigenes :-)

I missed the Scorpius being AP3 I can see why you want it now, with all these 3+ armour saves walking about. I think I'm a bit biased as I really like the deimos pattern pred and want to see one on the table Tongue (when blood angels are released in the Horus heresy I'm going to become very poor)

I was thinking if I run a flyrant pre 1250 I'd use him as more of a jump tyrant so I wouldn't be at a disadvantage not being able to swoop. I'd go for bonesword + Lashwhip, adrenal glands and old advisory. 250pts on the nose, gives me a big close combat threat that can support the stealers and I can jink every turn without snap firing affecting anything and hopefully be hiding in combat from turn two. Oh and I wouldn't get stuck with deathleapers stupid warlord trait (I get two extra victory points if I kill an IC in a challenge, no one ever accepts Sad ). Need to have a test game or two and see what works!

Sounds like a better plan! I modelled both of mine with dakka before thinking about it, I fail :-P

I think that's good advice Matt, watch out for the price of those upgrades...especially in lower points games. It's only on a T4 3+ dude, and they're not too difficult to kill. Like, although I love power fists, I rarely use them because they are pricey.

By the by, any of you guys going down to the club this Tuesday? I missed last week unfortunately. Is it another escalation night this Tuesday too?
