The Basics
#1
Warhammer 40,000 is basically a futuristic (and slightly simpler) version of Fantasy. It still has the Weapon Skill, Balistic Skill, Strength, Toughness, Wounds, Initiative, Attacks and Leadership values, just not he move, as all infantry models move 6", unless otherwise stated. It is easy to pick up, although, like Fantasy, you do have to refer to the rulebook quite a lot.

There are 14 different armies in 40k, Blood Angels, Chaos Demons, Chaos Space Marines, Dark Eldar, Eldar, Grey Knights, Imperial Guard, Necrons, Orks, Space Marines, Space Wolves, Tau Empire, Tyranids and Witch Hunters. Blood Angels, Grey Knights and Space Wolves are all types of Space Marine forces, and there a re many more Space Marine forces aswell, it's just that those 3 are the main ones, along with Ultramarines.
