Starting Bolt Action
#3
(09-01-2017, 09:17 PM)Walters Wrote: I have picked up 2 starter sets for Bolt Action, leaving me with the following:
German: 12 Grenadiers, 1 Half Track and 2 Panthers.
US: 24 Paratroopers and 3 Shermans
Could a viable force be made from either of these?
Any suggestions on what to add?
Also would any particular country be better to develop in terms of what forces other Bolt Action players have?
Thanks.

Very heavy on the armour! Great for big games, but does take a lot of points.
For your Germans, add panzershrek teams, and a mortar is always good. Then just add more infantry, oh and maybe an HMG.
Same for the US really.
Most games we have played we have had 3 squads, typically 30 figures, plus 3 or 4 specialist teams.
At the club we seem to have more allied players than German.
Also check out Chain of Command, a very good platoon sized skirmish game.
Flames of War- Irish Guards    Bloodbowl- Orcs, Humans
Cutlass- Teddy Bear Pirates     Warhammer- Bretonnia, Ogres
6mm WW2- XXX Corps            28mm WW2- Rules of Engagement, Bolt Action, Chain of Command
28mm Zulu War- Still painting !!  SAGA Normans, Saracens
Bolt Action - German and British Infantry
Malifaux - Gremlins
Guildball - Butchers,Hunters, Farmers
