Killteam.
#1
Picked up Killteam. And it looks pretty fun. Could get a game or 2 in when you get used to the skirmish level battles.

Pretty interesting rules as well.

Armies are 200pts using the following detachment.

Optional:
0-2 Troops
0-1 Elites
0-1 Fast Attack

Along with the following restrictions;
  • A minimum of 4 non-vehicle models (One MUST be designated leader who gets to roll on a mini warlord traits table)
  • No models with more than 3 starting wounds
  • No vehicles with a combined armour value (adding side, front and rear) of more than 33
  • No flyers or FMC
  • No 2+ armour saves

You can select up to 3 models in your force to be "specialists". Each specialist may select a special rule from one of 5 different categories (note: no 2 specialists may select from the same category). Any special rules that a model has as standard or from equipment (ie scout cloaks or tau stealth suits) do not count towards this limit.

Combat Specialist
  • Rage
  • Counter-attack
  • Furious Charge
  • Hammer of Wrath
  • Hatred
  • Berserk Fighter (gain D3 attacks if in combat with more than 1 enemy model)
  • Deathblow (if a target suffers an unsaved wound from this model. Reduce the targets wounds to 0 and remove it as a casualty)
  • Killer instinct (Against non-vehicle models. The model always wounds on a 2+ in close combat)
  • Warrior Adept (+1 WS)

Weapon Specialist
  • Sniper
  • Bane of vehicles (when making shooting attacks re-roll failed armour penetration rolls agaist vehicles. Can choose to re-roll galancing hits. But the second result must be kept)
  • Eagle Eye (ranged weapons increase their range by half. i.e a bolter becomes 36")
  • Expert Shot (+1 BS)
  • Machine Saboteur (Whenhitting a model in CC roll a d6 1:No effect 2-4:Glancing Hit 5-6Tongueenetrating Hit
  • Mater Craftsman (One ranged weapon can re-roll one failed to hit)
  • Reaping Volley (When firing a weapon with more than one shot, before rolling to hit. You can target different models with each shot. Announcing each target before rolling to hit))
  • Sharpshooter (Ignores cover)
  • Supressing fire (Non-vehicle models suffering one or more HITS must take a pinnig test)

Dirty Fighter
  • Fear
  • Soul Blaze
  • Blinding Distraction (Any target hit in CC by this model must take an iniciative test or be reduced to WS and BS 1 until the END of their next turn)
  • Exploit Weakness (Against non-vehicle models in CC each to wound roll of 6 is resolved at AP2. Vs vehicles each armoue pen roll of 6 allows an additional D3 to be added to the total at normal AP)
  • Executioner (re-roll To Wound rolls vs models with more than 2 wounds)
  • Low Blow (A target suffering one or more hits in CC is reduced to Initiatve 1 until the end of the following assault phase)
  • Murerous Blows (re-roll To Wound rolls in CC)
  • Poisoned Weapond (The model always wounds on a 4+. UNLESS a lower result would be required. If the toughness of the target is lower than the strength of this model. This model re-rolls failed To Wound rolls in CC)

Indomitable Specialist
  • Adamantium Will
  • Crusader
  • Eternal Warrior
  • Fearless
  • Feel No Pain
  • Relentless
  • Stubborn
  • Smackdown (Any non-vehicle model suffering one or more hits from this model in CC moves as if in difficult terrain until the end of its next turn)

Guerrilla Specialist
  • Fleet
  • Hit & Run
  • Infiltrate
  • Move Through Cover
  • Night Vision
  • Preferred Enemy
  • Scout
  • Stealth
  • Prmethium Charges (this model counts as being equipped with assault grenades that ignore cover when used in the shooting phase)

Played on a 4x4 board. Looks like it can get quite fast paced with a lot of moves and counter moves with the specialists being key.

I look forward to getting a game at some point.

I know I would love an evening of kill team. Should the opportunity arise. I'll work on some teams and drop a line.

An evening of Kill Team would be cool, and would be happy to try out some games with people too.Love having to only bring like 12 models.

A bit of a shame there wasn't more change from the 6th Ed Kill Team that came out before for that advent calendar thing a couple of years ago, but to be honest the format works fine as it is. Tempted to pick up and paint some Tempestus Scions, they'd make a cool kill team.

Do you have to use the CAD, or if your CODEX has Kill Teams in it can you use one of them.
Tyranids - They are coming! I feel then scratching inside my mind, scratching, screaming, running, so many - so, so many voices.

The rules for killteam have the killteam detachment. It's got special restrictions, separate to a CAD. If your Codex has a kill team, and it fits with the Kill Team Detachment rules then yeah, but a "kill team" != Kill Team Detachment necessarily.

I'm very interested, and have been sorting out some of my odd models into Kill Teams.

I was also thinking it could be fun to do a linked Kill-Team/40k campaign if people are interested?
