That's my thinking with the Wood Elves. Wouldn't mind an intro game one week soon if possible.

Cheers Paul, that'll come in handy.

Might be worth creating a sticky with some links to resources.

I may be interested. Gives me an excuse to break out the Dark Elves. They've literally been shelved this whole time since AoS came out. Are we talking big games or fairly small ones? If it's big, I'll stick to the Dark Elves, but if it's small I could be tempted to start a Sigmarine army :p

....or Daemons! I could just expand the handful of Daemons I have which could be used for 40K as well.

There's also a note under that book in GW that links to free pdf for all the Tomb Kings stuff, so does that infer TK's 'officially out' but 'unofficially in'!

Ok for interest I have just picked up (4.30am as the delivery arrived whilst we were at Wyvern so I popped into work, seeing as I was awake,) the Four books I was missing from AoS. These being the Realmgate Wars: Balance of Power, Battletome Fyreslayers, and both the Grand Alliance books, Chaos and Death. Now that I have the Grand Alliance books, I can effectively review everything in style.

Realmgate Wars : These are the most expensive books, but have the most in them. A huge number of scenarios, that are designed to tell the story. They also contain the rules for theming battles in various areas of the realms, and you will find Warscrolls for the models that they include in the stories.

Battletomes : These resemble the army books of old, to a degree, whilst also not being an army book as such. Due to the fact that you play with a Grand Alliance now which means there are four Armies they could be considered like the 40k codex supplements in that they are specialised sections. The Fyreslayers one contains only Fyreslayer rules in, the Khorne Bloodbound is only those models etc. They also contain fewer scenarios than the Realmgate wars books, and it would appear these scenarios are more specific to the force whose Battletomes they are in, in style. Rather than a scenario to tell a story, it's a this is a game designed to represent how the Stormcasts bolt into battle.

Grand Alliance : This is purely Warscrolls and Battle Formations. For your money, you get essentially a reprint of the FREE Warscrolls that GW provide, but one place. There are Formations, which the free resource do not have, and only models GW plan to produce are included. No scenarios at all, just pure model rules.

Free Warscrolls : Not to dissimilar to the Grand Alliance books, just free and not as tidy. They do includ however ALL of the GW range, at least over the past few years. GA Death has NO Tomb Kings models in the book, GW are no longer producing them, but people still own them, so currently the rules exist, so you can use those models. Same with for instance the Hell Cannon, it's gone from the GA Chaos book, but if you own the model, they do produce rules for you. You will however find that none of the new models have rules here, this is purely pre-AoS stuff, but new models do come with rules, in the box.

Across all of the three paid type of resource though you find Formations exclusive to them selves, as a way of effectively encouraging you to spend some money.

Anyway I have a week off coming up, so I'll have to take a look further into game size, and balancing etc.
