Jousting Game
#1
We've already got games planned for the MiniCon next year, but need to decide upon whether we attend/what we do at Salute and the UK Games Expo. Working on the premise that we do want to attend, we could run the Cutlass board again or look to do something different.

One idea that has been proposed is some form of jousting game. Justin mentioned some rules featuring knights of Bretonnia that were presented in a old issue of White Dwarf that could be used as a basis, or we could look to invent something ourselves. A larger model scale around the 50mm+ mark was also suggested.

Please give it some thought, critique the concept and propose some ideas for game mechanics if you have any.

Looks like the GW rules date back to White Dwarf issue 215 in 1997 (later posted as a downloadable PDF, but no longer available) and are called "Full Tilt". Just trying to see if I can dig them out.

I've found a scan of the relevant pages from WD #215, but not sure if I can post them here. If anyone wants a copy then let me know and I can email it over.

Cheers Chris, hopefully I've managed to find the relevant pages.

OK cool, I'll need to find another excuse to go in the loft then!

Just saw Google crawling this thread and it reminded me of an idea some of us were throwing about a few weeks ago: 40K Jousting. It seemed to prompt some lively interest based on the somewhat comical premise of a selection of fast attack units from the 40K universe meeting each other at high speed from opposing sides of a wall/hedge. Perhaps the basis for an entertaining game to stage at shows/events.

Some of the following models could be well suited to this:
