3D Printing - Stuart - 21-06-2012 Following on from a previous discussion with Vince in the SoC thread, there's an interesting piece in Wired on 3D printing, including details of a run in with Games Workshop: http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2012-05/31/3d-printing-copyright Some interesting times ahead for this technology. RE: 3D Printing - manrogue - 21-06-2012 Thats an interesting read, cheers for posting Stu! RE: 3D Printing - Stuart - 25-10-2012 It occurred to me last night that a model prototype/one-off/limited run 3D printing service would be an interesting idea. Basically someone with some 3D printing kit would offer customers a facility to upload digital models to be printed and sent back in the post. And, true to form with most of my other ideas, today I saw this posted on Facebook: http://www.creativebloq.com/3d/3d-printing-factory-future-10121083 Shapeways: http://www.shapeways.com/ FAQ: http://www.shapeways.com/support/faq Costs: http://www.shapeways.com/materials RE: 3D Printing - stygmatyr - 26-10-2012 Simon (Etched oracle) may have some interesting news regarding this, though i'll leave it to him to share the details RE: 3D Printing - Stuart - 15-04-2013 ToaTS posted a link to this piece at the weekend: http://quirkworthy.com/2013/04/14/will-3d-printing-kill-miniature-companies/ |
