High from Battle Systems - Battlesystems - 14-03-2012

Hi,

My name is Colin and I have been speaking to Stuart over the last couple of weeks regarding visiting one tuesday night. I'm 38 and have been into wargaming (mostly GW) since I was 13 years old. Around White Dwarf issue 82.. gulp. I've been living in Redditch for about 12 years.

The reason I want visit a games night is to introduce not only myself, but my company... oh no alarm bells... It is very new and I'm looking for feedback. We sell wargaming terrain and specialise on internal terrain. i.e. interiors of space stations, battle cruisers, etc. To give you an idea of what it is you can visit the site http://www.battlesystems.co.uk/

I'd be really interested in hear your views of what we do and also what you think we should do. I also want an excuse to visit a gaming night and if it's business the wife will not be so put out as I leave her with the 3 kids for the night.

I'm a massive fan of wargaming, but rarely get time to play. When I do it is normally following rules I have developed myself based on GW and other systems... and also by myself.

Stuart suggested I say hello on the forum. I will be visiting on the 20th March. I will bring the biscuits as instructed.

Hello to all and hope to see you there.

Colin

Hi Colin

Good to see you signed up - sorry I won't be there next week (I'm very interested to see your system) but hope to catch up with you soon.

Stu.

This looks like it would be very nice terrain piece for infinity, would be quite fun to play a boarding action on Battle Cruiser using the infinity rules set.
Look forward to seeing the bits in person next week.

RE: High from Battle Systems - Battlesystems - 14-03-2012

Yeah,

We were posted on the Infinity blog and quite a few people bought from us there. I'm guessing they were thinking the same thing. It seems to be popular with Infinity, I'm told it's because of the furniture style items, good for cover and so on. I've never played it myself, but it looks very cool indeed.

See you next week

Colin.

^anyone wanting to take the plunge and get some of this can do so at discount for a limited period(lunchtime tomorrow i think)
May take advantage myself.

Welcome! I'm looking forward to seeing this as it'd be a nice alternative and addition to games such as Infinity.

Perhaps you could give it a whirl in your game Vince?

RE: High from Battle Systems - manrogue - 16-03-2012

Are you bringing some example/useable pieces with you Colin that we could try out?

RE: High from Battle Systems - manrogue - 18-03-2012

Decided to take the plunge and have bought the set.
Gonna have an attempt at building tomorrow night.
ANyone know where i can get the 1.5mm mount board from?

RE: High from Battle Systems - Battlesystems - 18-03-2012

Hi again,

Thanks Vincent, I have replied to your email re the mount board, but just incase... I get it from Studley Arts. I can give you directions on Tuesday night if you like, as well as tips for building. Although it's all on the tutorials.

There are links of the website for where you can get many of the materials actually. The mount board on there is cheaper, but delivery etc might make a difference.

I will be bringing along my demo set, just so you can all have a look. Not sure how long I can stay for, depends on the wife and kids, but hopefully some time or maybe all night. Unless i get in the way and you can just boot me out. I will also bring the bunker set for a preview, this works well as part of a tabletop set up. Add's some nice scenario ideas, like storm the bunker and rescue the prisinor, or destroy the reactor room, etc etc.

Cheers

Colin

Yep saw your e-mail this morning, plan to go get some from there after work and have some coming off ebay as well.
Look forward to seeing the bunker set, really like the look of your stuff.
Thanks for your help Colin!
