Cluster Sheets for getting rid of sector clutter - Adam Duckett - 19-11-2017

Hello all. I always find the clusters get too cluttered with ground asset tokens and dice used to show how many sector hull points remain. So I've created a sheet that would be shared by both players during a game. It essentially allows both players to remove all of the cluster tokens from the playing surface, keeping it tidy and hopefully speeding up game play.

Each sheet contains the scenario map and then a representation of each cluster and its sectors. Around each sector are the token symbols for your ground assets. I have created these in colours light enough to be written over so you can score how many of each asset you've dropped.

I plan to create a sheet for each scenario, laminate them and then use a dry wipe pen to simply score the number of infantry, armour and defence batteries dropped by me and my opponent in each sector and of course rub out and update as more are dropped and ground combat reduces numbers. A pencil and rubber would work too of course. The sheets also serve as a scorecard with a box to write each player's name and record their victory points as the game progresses.

I've designed sheets for six of the eight scenarios so far. Feel free to print off and use - and let me have any feedback if you think it can be improved - or if you think it's unnecessary! All feedback welcome! Smile

These look really great and I think they are a fantastic idea. When there are a load of strike carriers around a cluster it's hard to see what's on what and to access the tokens. Especially hull points of the sectors - having a random dice is messy, so recording hull on a sheet sounds good.

My only concern would be that if there are no tokens on the board, I might find it hard to see at a glance how the game is progressing, so I would probably find the sheets most helpful in the late game where decisions on where to send ships are at a minimum. I would still like to use tokens on the board if easy and convenient, and use the sheet just for the problem clusters?

Would def be up for trying these and see how it works in game.

Hey Chris, cheers for the comments - and good point on perhaps not so easily seeing how the game is progressing. If you're up for it we can play test it when we play one another, and if need be I can tweak it.

Sounds good!
