I’m not sure mate, will have to have a quick read up…

Basically the Herald of Tzeench will have flickering fire and 1 roll of Divi will join a Pink Horror unit which will throw out 3d6 shots and then the Herald will throw out 2 or 3 (STR6 AP4/5/-) I think, Defo str6 thanks to Conjuration.
2 Heralds of Khorne will join the Hounds, giving them Rage and Furious Charge and additional wounds, will have to check what the Juggernaut does, most likely +1 T (T5?) +1 Attack and +1 Wound?
3x16 Horrors – Lots of scoring and lots of fire power… ouch, luckily they’re quite weak in the open (T3, 1W, 5+ save (re-rolling 1’s))
Plaguebearers – I think they come in 5’s? Stealth and Shrouded as standard.. just a deck chair unit that 2x10kroot can pick on if required.
3x15 Khorne Hounds – come with scout moves… but thankfully I have 3 Servo Skulls to push him back! Will do the majority of his killing.
Soul Grinder – STR8 AP3 Large blast with 36” range… with AV13,12,10 4HPs… Walker with 2 DCCW, so is nasty, not sure what the Nurgle upgrade does.. maybe give in It Will Not Die or FnP or something to give it some protection.

Tactics… well I’m thinking… go first, smash up 2 units of hounds, hopefully stay out of range of 1 pack, jump again towards the Grinder (I would deep strike it.. but he might deploy it…), Fusion that, then take out the remaining pack.

Then it’s time to hunt troops turn3/4 TBH I’m thinking of a tabling here… but only if things go right turn1, which means Markerlights hitting from the Skyrays and then unloading all the missiles into them Hounds to double tap them, hopefully he deploys in SMS range as well, that would be nice, and the 3rd pack not making combat…

Going second, not a bad thing, but will put pressure on my troops as my opponent will be much closer, might even have to sacrifice a unit or 2 for an objective, I think the Storm could be the match winner here, staying out of sight/range for as long as possible… but it will take a shooting/combat or shooting/shooting combo to actually take them out!

Mission.. just hoping for anything other than the Scouring! (Fast Attack units score :p)

Daemon of Nurgle on the Soul Grinder will give it hatred (tz Daemons),shrouded, slow, purposeful and defence grenades. Also standard daemon traits of instability, auto passes on fear, morale, and pinning tests.

RE: Caledonian 2014 40k Tournament - Embolden - 14-01-2014

Cheers mate! thanks for the insight! It's nasty!

Good job my Farsight bomb has ignore cover lol! and a bigger threat range (even into double tap fusion if my opponent makes a positioning mistake :p)

RE: Caledonian 2014 40k Tournament - manrogue - 14-01-2014

yeah first turn could definitely lead to you getting a tabling win, planning to outflank a unit of kroot?

Might be a good idea, that and the storm could be vital to getting you the win if things don't go to plan.

RE: Caledonian 2014 40k Tournament - Nick1988 - 15-01-2014

Learnt a ton about my list tonight against Rob! Was a great game an could have gone either way in every sense! Loads of stuff i need to look out for against top tier lists like robs! A 1''ish move cost me all my centurions, tau commander and chapter master which would be devestating in tournament play!! Some positives too though. Especially the fact that the stuff around the bomb can still do damage and potentially win a game! Also using tiggy to jump between the bomb and the riptide buffing each where neccessary worked really well Smile 100% sticking with tiggy as my warlord (if he can deffo trade his trait for rulebook ones? Any ideas guys?) as hes usually the last to survive! (the whole point of the chapter master is to take wounds and usually die turn 4ish).

Overall im happy with my list amd cant wait for my first game on Saturday! Wish us luck!!

RE: Caledonian 2014 40k Tournament - Embolden - 15-01-2014

Yeah cheers for the game Nick!

I'm glad my troops survived even after that epic error on my part that cost me the best part of 2 Kroot units, the Bomb did it's job, but failing gate was massive... again.. I think going second was probably the right thing to do.. I should have deployed all 3 Skyrays and shot the snot out that damn Storm Raven earlier :p, I should have been more aggressive with Skyrays as well... would have given you a hard choice of going for Skyrays or Troops with the Bikers...

I think I'm getting better with the list, not as smashy as I first though, although in our game Nick you moved tiggy out your bomb but kept rolling FnP :p would have meant a dead Commander or Chapter Master :p not a big deal in the long run, but something to consider going forwards.

I've just run some math against my opponents list...

Turn1 I should take out 1 entire unit of Hounds with the Bomb and about 8 from the Skyrays... this means playing really cagey! Turn2 I have a big choice about what to go for... depending on the game etc, I could go for the Grinder and 2 Hounds units... gonna be risky!

Extremely excited!

RE: Caledonian 2014 40k Tournament - manrogue - 15-01-2014

Has he got a fixed Trait?

If so, then no you can't switch it. Sad

RE: Caledonian 2014 40k Tournament - Nick1988 - 15-01-2014

Yeah he gets re roll to hot on 1 unit within 12'' for a turn...... Confused definatly cant switch it? Lol my army is so floored :p
