I recommend using Vallejo air as it is ready to go straight away, whereas using GW or Model colour requires thinning and can be a pain to get thinning ratio right.
When you get it, experiment on a old model or something to get the hang of it and i paint models by glueing to a cocktail stick (should be some examples in my hobby thread.
