Warhammer 40K Caledonian Revolutions 2015

Hey guys,

Just thought I'd start a thread so we can start sharing our battle plans and lists..

What are people looking to take?

My list for War of the Roses in may is:

Eldar CAD:

HQ1: Farseer – Jetbike – (Warlord)
HQ2: Farseer – Jetbike, Spiritstone of Anath'Lan, Mantle of the Laughing God
HQ0: 5 Warlocks – 5 Jetbikes

Troop1: 5 Dire Avengers (Transport1)
Troop2: 5 Dire Avengers (Transport2)
Troop3: 5 Dire Avengers (Transport3)

Heavy1: Wraithknight – Heavy Wraithcannons
Heavy2: Wraithknight – Heavy Wraithcannons

Transport1: Wave Serpent – Twin Linked Scatter Laser
Transport2: Wave Serpent – Twin Linked Scatter Laser
Transport3: Wave Serpent – Twin Linked Scatter Laser

Inquisition Detachment:

HQ1: Xenos Inquisitor – Psyker lvl1, 3 Servo Skulls, Force Sword

Elite1: Warband: 2 Acolytes, 1 Psyker (Transport1)
Elite1: Warband: 2 Acolytes, 1 Psyker (Transport2)
Elite1: Warband: 2 Acolytes, 1 Psyker (Transport3)

Transport1: Chimera – Turret Multilaser, Hull Heavy Flamer
Transport2: Chimera – Turret Heavy Bolter, Hull Heavy Bolter, Searchlight, Psybolt Ammo
Transport3: Razorback – TL Heavy Bolter, Psybolt Ammo, Searchlight

Total: [1850]

I don't plan on changing it before Cally..

15 Warp Charge to start the game with and the aim is to Summon a Daemon army by turn3 while whittling down the enemy with 3 Serpents, 2 Chimeras and a Razorback shooting into anything threatening or Obsec Smile

I have purchased the models for....

Cad

Nemesor Zahndrekh 150
Vargard Obyron 120

10 Warriors 130
• Ghost Ark 105
10 Warriors 130
• Ghost Ark 105

3 Canoptek Scarabs 60
6 Canoptek Wraiths: 6× Whip Coils; 6× Transdimensional Beamer 318
6 Destroyers: Heavy Destroyer 250

1 Canoptek Spyder: Fabricator Claw Array 55

Royal court

Overlord: Solar Staff; Phase Shifter 120
Destroyer Lord: Veil of Darkness; Resurrection Orb; Phase Shifter 185
Orikan the Diviner 120

1,848 points

Basic idea is the characters split into the wraith and destroyer units and teleport to the centre of the board via Oberon and the veil. The rest just sits back and moves onto objectives later in the game. For anyone that hasn't played a tournament in 7th they use both eternal war and maelstrom missions so taking a few fast moving units ie jet bikes and skimmer to start building your maelstrom points as early as possible is a big help!

Board dominance is key in my opinion, like Nicks death star (s), it can deter the enemy from moving into key areas of the board.

My army does this through weight of fire power from MSU units and summoned Daemons.

I strongly suggest people get there heads around the missions, the scoring looks complex, but after a game or two, it will become second nature.

Interesting list, I would split the Hornets up into 2 units of 1, better distribution of fire power.

Put the Scorpions in a Wave Serpent so you can infiltrate it (the squad has infiltrate so its given to a dedicated transport, (same as the Warlord trait.. give it to the unit and the dedicated transports benefit) Falcons won't benefit from it or any traits)

Put 5 Dire Avengers in a Falcon to make it Obsec while the Avengers are mounted, plus that likely to be hanging back anyway.

I'm not keen on Banshees... I would personally like to see some Fire Dragons Wink also a Fusion gun on the Autarch please. Smile

Other than those minor tweaks.. top list IMO Smile

Nice looking lists so far, looking totally nasty to face. I am still having a think and can't decide between dark Eldar or necrons. Will post a list when I have had a think. Also never played any maelstrom missions so really need to get some practice in!
40K - Dark Angels, Dark Eldar, Necrons; Lord of the Rings - lots; Bloodbowl - Dwarves, Wood Elves; SAGA - Anglo Danes & Welsh; Guildball - Morticians, Engineers; Dropzone/fleet - Shaltari

Not crap JJ, honestly. I like it! 4 serpents, Crimson hunter and 2 Falcons is solid fire power!!

Just to check.. It is a crimson hunter exarch with Bright lances right?

Not forgetting the hornets and infantry as well.

What weapon platforms are the guardians rocking? Also what powers are you looking for on the farseer? Smile

You think it's worth paying for the Crimson hunter exarch? No points for weapons platforms really, I'd normally give them Shuriken Cannons or Starcannons though.

With the Farseer I just kind of play it by ear. Usually Doom and Guide I guess.
