Warhammer 40K Caledonian Revolutions 2015
#61
Due to the sudden realisation that I can't really afford to buy much before Cally.... I've had to rethink my list based on buying very little that I don't already have. This means my list isn't going to be all that competitive.

Cheapo list:

HQ1: Autarch - Fusion Gun, Scorpion Chainsword
HQ2: Farseer - Singing Spear

Troop1: 5 Dire Avengers
Troop2: 5 Dire Avengers
Troop3: 10 Guardian Defenders - Heavy Weapon Platform with Shuriken Cannon (Transport1)
Troop4: 10 Guardian Defenders - Heavy Weapon Platform with Shuriken Cannon (Transport2)

Elite1: 6 Fire Dragons with Exarch with Firepike (Transport3)
Elite2: 5 Howling Banshees (Transport4)

Fast1: Crimson Hunter Exarch
Fast2: Hornet - 2x Pulse Lasers
Fast3: 3 Vypers - 2x Shuriken Cannons

Heavy1: Falcon – Scatter Laser
Heavy2: Falcon – Scatter Laser

Transport1: Wave Serpent – Twin Linked Scatter Laser
Transport2: Wave Serpent – Twin Linked Scatter Laser
Transport3: Wave Serpent – Twin Linked Bight Lance
Transport4: Wave Serpent – Twin Linked Scatter Laser

Total: [1850]

Then I'd only need buy Autarch and Fire Dragons? £35?

Had a game with the list yesterday against Will's Tyranids and didn't do too badly, the Fire Dragons (who I've now given a Firepike Exarch) made short work of a Flyrant when they sat on a Skyfire objective.

Also the plane and Hornet both performed well for their points. I'll be using this list Tuesday Chris (proxies for Fire Dragons though).

From my side of the board it looked like a good list JJ. Lots of mobility firepower and most of it able to hide behind AV12. I just think you need to practice to get the most out of things like the bansiees.

For those interested my list has now morphed into the bellow. After reading the changes in the missions I decided I needed some firepower to go with my crushing numbers. Seemed to work well VS JJ's list and was fun to play with. Might drop the termagaunts devourers for a fourth warrior for extra synapse protection(JJ killed all my synapse in this list on turn four Sad )

Very true JJ anything with 100+ models is intimidating!

I need help with these 2 lists, cannot decide between the two:

List1:
Farseer - Skyrunner, Spiritstone - 130
Autarch - Swooping Hawk Wings, Fusion Gun, Scorpions Chainsword - 98

5 Windriders - 5 Scatter Lasers - 135
5 Windriders - 5 Scatter Lasers - 135
4 Windriders - 4 Scatter Lasers - 108
4 Windriders - 4 Scatter Lasers - 108
3 Windriders - 3 Scatter Lasers - 81

2 D-Cannons - 110
3 War Walkers - 6 Scatter Lasers - 180

Wraithknight - 2 Heavy Wraithcannons, 2 Scatter Lasers - 325

Aspect Host: (+1 BS)
7 Warp Spiders - Exarch - 143
6 Swooping Hawks - Exarch, Hawks Talon - 116
5 Dark Reapers - Exarch, 5 Starshot Missiles - 180

Total: 1849pts

Pro's
Has 130 str6 shots and 5 Obsec Jetbike units, plus D-Cannon defence.

Con's
Only 3 WC so likely to only guide/prescience two units max, more likely 1 as 1 power is likely to be denied.

List2:
Farseer - Skyrunner, Spiritstone - 130
3 Windriders - 3 Scatter Lasers - 81
3 Windriders - 3 Scatter Lasers - 81
3 Windriders - 3 Scatter Lasers - 81
Warlock - Skyrunner - 50
2 Vypers - 4 Shuriken Cannons - 100

Autarch - Swooping Hawk Wings, Fusion Gun - 95

Wraithknight - 2 Heavy Wraithcannons, 2 Scatter Lasers - 325

Aspect Host: (+1 BS)
7 Warp Spiders - Exarch - 143
6 Swooping Hawks - Exarch, Hawks Talon - 116
5 Dark Reapers - Exarch, 5 Starshot Missiles - 180

Farseer - Skyrunner - 115
5 Windriders - 5 Scatter Lasers - 135
5 Windriders - 5 Scatter Lasers - 135
3 Windriders - 3 Scatter Lasers - 81

Total: 1849pts

Pro's
122 Str6 shots, Aspect Host gets auto 6" battle focus, shred on Shuriken Cannons, 6 units of Jetbikes. 7 WC so can easily cast 3 powers but have a good chance for 4 powers.

Con's
Only 3 Obsec units, less shots than list 1.

I cannot pick between them.. what are your thoughts?

Haha I'm just hoping 100+ models will stop me getting tabled.

I think I prefer the first list Rob. More objective secured will probably be of more use, as the games are maelstrom and eternal war at the same time. Also is the second list legal for the caledonian? you've got a windrider host, aspect host and a CAD (I think ) and we are restricted to two detachments and no detatchments inside detachments. Unless they've updated the rules pack?

Yeah I like the first list best Rob. Game against JJ's Eldar yesterday went well for me but think that had a bit to do with JJ shooting at a Ghost ark for three turns that refused to die. I'm not totally sure about the lychguard unit with swords and shields, might be better with more shooting instead.
40K - Dark Angels, Dark Eldar, Necrons; Lord of the Rings - lots; Bloodbowl - Dwarves, Wood Elves; SAGA - Anglo Danes & Welsh; Guildball - Morticians, Engineers; Dropzone/fleet - Shaltari
