25mm bases being replaced by 32mm bases?
#1
Interesting one, Lords of war gaming are claiming that 25mm infantry bases are being phased out in favour of the new 32mm that accompany the death company models in the new box set.

So for those of you that pay attention to the release list for upcoming product you may have noticed that 32mm bases are on the list for next week.
If you are wondering what they were for take a good hard look at the Death company in the picture and compare to the genestealers and behold the future!
Get ready to get your (re)base on. To reiterate ALL MODELS on 25mm bases will eventually transition to the new 32mm bases.

Hmm... might be a jump infantry thing, regular infantry on 25, jump 35, beasts etc 45, Centurions 50odd and so-on and so-on...

LoW are pretty convinced that 25mm bases are going the way of the dodo, I asked to clarify as I thought the same lol

Might be so they can get better sculpts. The Blight Kings were designed game wise to fit on 25mm. The fact they didn't means they are on 40mm and garbage in game.

If it is just jump/large infantry it will save sticking penny's to the bottom to stop them falling over! I'm all for it!

To me, the new tacticals seem to be on 32mms as well-

Normally marines barely fit on, seems to be plenty of space though....
What are others opinions from pic?

Also love the denial effect, got some abuse when i posted the rumour on dakka lol. Even now, a lot are proclaiming "its just marines! The genestealers in the box set don't have them!".
Yeah but Tyranids are not the army getting updated at the minute.......
If you was going to introduce such a big change, you'd do it piecemeal as the armies get updated. Saves a lot of manufactoring and double handling cost running the existing stock down before hand.
Otherwise you are getting the product shipped back, hiring a rework crew to open up a box, switch the bases, reseal and then resend out to stockist.
~end tangent~

Well thats just annoying... Those won't fit in the current carry cases as easy.
Lucky they are not re-releasing any army I'm getting any time soon!
