The book in both £40 and £100 versions survived 4 minutes before its no longer available.

This is where I see GW having a fundamental error in the knowledge of their own customer base. As they (and we all should also be) that children are more interested in the Pew-Pew nature of 40k. Space Marines being a huge factor in that desire. However the more mature gamer (i.e. the ones actually with the money,) are more likely to be hobbyists, and are more likely to play WFB than 40k. What they perceive as poor WFB sales, is because their customer base have not been provided with what they wanted, rather than having larger and more expensive models rammed down their throats to drive sales. Yes I am aware of Nagash, Glottkin and the Maggoth Lords, but apart from Nagash who is extremely powerful, from the rules so far released the only other over the top character, is the new Karl Franz and that kit has been out over 2 years. So unlike 40k where the rules are published to sell the new models, WFB has seen rules published in the interests of creating a gaming world. For years there has been talk of Brettonians being dropped due to poor sales, but the same was true of Wood Elves. And yet when the Woodies actually did get a new book, what did GW see happen? They sold out of every copy of every book they had, had printed, around the Europe before they got any to independent retailers. Wayland, Element Games, Firestorm Games in the UK, independent stores got zero copies. US independents got a grand total of ONE copy of the book. This from a core book (not one of their limited sub-codices such as Waaaagh Ghazgkull,) had never happened before, and additionally all WE kits sold out, including Glade Guard models which were around when the game was in 6th edition. Additionally it took them 3 months to be able to get Citadel Woods in stock. Since then we have had the End Times products all of which have sold out, and due to demand has seen them forced to go back to soft covers. And the latest book that has seen their greatest print run yet (because they had time to see the Nagash sales numbers before Khaine went to print,) didn't even see out 300 seconds before sold out around the world, via their web-store.

If I was the new CEO I would be taking a very hard look at the direction that they have taken the company under Kirby's leadership. This should be proof enough for them that the Crèche for kids at the detriment of people with their own disposable income, may have been a mistake. Hopefully although unlikely this will wake the company up.

End Times V - Archaonbrings a Bloodthirster kit (3 variants, plastic) according to SadPanda and Darnok

Quote:SadPanda

In the last week of March, GW will release a Codex for Khorne Warbands/Hordes.

It combines Khorne-themed CSM and daemon units. Formations, etc..

It is a one-week release with no new miniatures released for this new codex as such (but Zerkers, in all their old miniatures-glory, are actually in the Codex, no WD spin-offs).

The main purpose of this khorne codex is to ride in the slipstream of End Times 5, which will be released earlier in march, with the "headline"-release of the new Bloodthirster (builds 3 variants).

There is no "main" Codex CSM in 2015. There are no nurgle, tzeentch, etc. equivalents to this khorne one planned (yet), as it's mostly an End Times add-on to make the new Bloodthirster with all its variants work in 40K.

Plastic Bloodthirster Details

“The Plastic Bloodthirster is real.

Kit makes three models a normal bloodthirster with whip and Axe of Khorne, one wielding a monstrous two-handed axe, third has a doubleheaded axe and super long chain flail. The wings are really big – the model is almost as big as Nagash, and is extra tall. It is sculpted on top of a flickering flame. There are three different heads with different types of horns and helmets. Large armoured hooves, thigh straps, regular upper body straps and gladiator kind of armour. Super muscular, like a super ripped world’s strongest man mixed with a Khorne daemon.”

Still got a lot of Harlequin stuff to go so no idea when this drops this and End Times V, maybe start of March?
