Bolt Action Getting started with Bolt Action
#1
Paul and myself have splurged bit of cash on this 28mm WWII system from Warlord games. 500 pts of British Airborne arrived for me yesterday and Paul has 500 pts of Fallschrimjager. The army deals seem like very good value for money.

Looking forward to getting some games in after Christmas.

Per our discussion tues night and a bit of research. First mentioned combat for my lot were taking of bridges in Holland, with BEF charging in to the rescue... so the idea of fighting for bridges across rivers is a good place to start...

Pretty good. Given it was out first game there was a lot of referring to the rulebook but I think we got a pretty good handle on it. We might have overdone it just a tad with the number of buildings on the table, and one side of the board turned into a very slow, attritional slug-fest. Conversely hand-to-hand seems pretty brutal and decisive.

Activation system seems good, although by chance we managed to pull out 6 of my 7 order dice from the bag in succession!
