My current fleet roster

270 pts Auroras Ghost - Mars Class Battlecruiser Ld 6 (replaces The Aurora destroyed at Moab)
190 pts Aries - Dominator Class Cruiser Ld 6 - Withdrawn for repairs after battle with Tau
190 pts Discovery - Dominator Class Cruiser Ld 6 - Withdrawn for repairs after battle with Tau
220 pts Curious - Dictator class cruiser Ld 6
220 pts Wrath - Dictator class cruiser Ld 6 (replaces the admiral hood, Destroyed at the battle for Mezoa)
180 pts Rama - Gothic class cruiser Ld 6 (the unlucky ship of my fleet) -destroyed at the Exterminates over CCX-104 - Hulk recovered and repaired, surviving command crew executed by fleet commissar. - Withdrawn for repairs after battle with Tau
180 pts Oblivion - Lunar class cruiser Ld 6
270 pts The Dragon - Mars class battlecruiser Ld 8 - Flagship
150 pts Hawkfire sqdrn - 5 X Cobra destroyers Ld 7
60 pts Widowmakers - 2 X Cobra destroyers Ld 6 (with the +2 Ld upgrade for enemy on special orders that replaces their weapon batteries) - destroyed at the Exterminates over CCX-104 - (replaced with more patrol ships from anti pirate duties sqdrn name kept)

probably should put the results of my game against Keith up. In short I lost.
In long:
372.5 Vps to 172.5Vps
Keith got +7 renown and I got +2
I lost my flagship so once I think of a new name will have a mars class on Ld 6
My admiral once he has explained things to the fleet commissar will transfer over to 'the dragon' (mars class)
the discovery and curious are now on Ld7 and Ld6 respectively and are both withdrawn for the next game
the widow makers have gone up in LD to 8
and the Aries is stuck with a crappy Ld6 and has one hit carried over after two repair points are used
I also made my reinforcement roll so I have an Apocalypse Battleship on my roster now (forgot to roll for Ld though). The ships name is Gabriel's Hammer

I think Keith had his battleship/carrier crippled lost a squadron of escorts and had a hit on his light cruiser.

oh and I need to get used to torpedoes being able to turnUndecided
and losing the shield generator on my flagship was bad. If that ship had survived it would have been 170 to 172.5 victory points and a victory for me. sooo close just needed to have made one more brace for impact roll :-P

Game 2 Vs JJ - scenario - The bait

Played JJ at the weekend a very bloody battle in which my fleet decided to fight to the death but managed to not lose a ship.
was a raid on the forge world of Mezoa. Bit unusual as we had two(!) gas giants and a moon. all the fighting took place in the gravity well of one world though.

Was a Valliant victory for the imperials although both sides failed there sub plot's.

I used The Aries, Oblivion, and Hawkfire sqrn. 490pts against 750pts of JJ's elder. (1 eclipse and 4 hellbores and 6 unknown escort class vessels.)
Opening turns went very badly with exceptionally poor shooting by my capital ships but managed to do enough to force a withdraw from JJ's only capital ship, removing his ability to launch bombers and evening up the points on the board. was then a case of me catching his escorts using gravity assisted turns before he killed any of my ships.
man of the match goes to Hawkfire sqrn. They punched well above their weight.

The Aries was cripples with one hull point left at the end of the game Ld is as low as it can go
Oblivion was also crippled with three hull points left and so Ld is now 6
Hawkfire Squrn was crippled with one ship left of the starting four so Ld is now 7
All withdrawn for repairs

Added a squadron of firestorm frigates to my roster. coming in with Ld 7
I gained 7 (!) renown

2 Squadrons of 2 Hellebores "Alpha" and "Bravo" Squadron. Both KIA.

2 Squadrons 3 Nightshades "Delta" and "Foxtrot" Squadrons. Both Crippled.

Was a bloodbath.....

Sounds like it! And the first time I've seen the defender come anywhere even close to winning in "The Bait"! Well played Will.

Yeah it was the gravity wells that screwed me. It made his ships be able to lock on and still manoeuvre as quickly as mine, at short range.... Was like a 50 cal vs. tin foil.... That said my torps proved to be very efficient. As did my bombers (briefly....)

Game 3 vs james

Was a 1000pt battle with me as the defender. The scenario was fleet engagement.


James

Retribution Battleship
Lunar class cruiser
Dictator Class cruiser
dauntless light cruiser
3? Swords

Will

Mars class Battle cruiser (The Dragon)
Dictator Class Cruiser (Admiral Hood)
Gothic Class Cruiser (Rama)
Dominator Class Cruiser (Discovery)
3 Firestorm Class Frigates (from The Fire starters)


Started off well with me putting a lunar down to one hit point in the initial stages of the game, annoyingly my torpedo's exploded in blast markers and my bombers suddenly decided not to hit so I couldn't quite kill it. The swords and dauntless managed to survive a few nova bombs and quite a bit of firepower with virtually no damage. In revenge the Discovery was crippled but fought on.
Mid game was a fight for position with a few damage points traded either side but no real damage. most notable where my bombers being unable to do anything...
Late game a few good hits on the dragon lead to her being crippled, but I managed to get in a brilliant position behind jame's fleet but was unable to capitalise on it. At this point with two crippled cruisers, another with two hits taken and a crippled escort squadron I decided to cut my losses and disengage.
Everything passed except the gothic which proceeded to fail its leadership test three times and as a result was crippled.

end result 190Vps to james and 50? to me. (Both failed our subplots)

Was a good game and very close. A few dice rolls coming up differently would have changed everything.

James gained 5 renown and I Lost 1

I withdrew the dragon, discovery and Rama. used my two repair points on the fire starters bringing them back to full health
Admiral Hood went up a Leadership.
I succeeded in rolling reinforcements going to bring in another dominator.

James succeed in a refit adding a left column shift to the batteries on the retribution, withdrew the lunar and used his repair points (can't remember how many) to bring his fleet back up to full strength.
