Army Builders
#1
Copied from: Dulce et Decorum Est

Quote:In my ongoing series on hobby resources this post will cover on-line army builders. I'll start off by saying that I'm sure there's a bunch that I'm missing, so any and all comments to point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

These are builders I've stumbled across, mostly, though a couple were gleaned from people's blogs.

ArmyCalc.com - I've never used this one.
Army Forge - Several game systems from GW.
Command Center - Warhammer 40k
Dystopian Wars Army Builder Online - Just what it says on the tin.
EasyArmy.com - Flames of War You'll have to have an account to get past the front page.
eKow Online - Kings of War
Forward Kommander - HoMachine and Dystopian Wars
Gruntomatic - A free card builder/army builder for Gruntz.
InfinityArmy - Corvus Belli's online army builder for Infinity.
Infinity Pool - For Infinity

Little Army Builder FoG - Army builder for Fields of Glory
Little Army Builder FoGR - Army builder for Fields of Glory Rennaissance

X-Wing Army Builder - This is, despite the misleading name, an army builder for FFG's X-Wing game.
X-Wing Card Builder - From the same fellow as above, this site lets you make your own cards for X-Wing.

The following are free but require a download to work:

Fighting Forces of the Reconquest - Army builder for Drop Zone Commander.
War Room - Downloadable app for HoMachine.

Also, there is:

BattleScribe
Warband
Dropfleet Commander: UCM
Dropzone Commander: UCM
Star Wars X-Wing: Rebel Alliance
Magic the Gathering
LotR SBG: High Elves
Warhammer 40,000 7th ed.: Astra Militarum & Eldar
Halo Fleet Battles: Covenant
BFG: Imperial Navy & Eldar Corsairs
Warhammer Fantasy 8th ed.: Warriors of Chaos

Army builder which requires a licence for updates.

Quatermaster for iOS devices, which is a fee requiring app. Once bought though, you can find and download, or create/adjust templates. For WFB and 40k. Those are my two for my WFB needs.
Star Wars Legion - Rebels
Guildball - Alchemists
Blood Bowl - Lizardmen

Army builder doesn't require a license to update, it requires you to have it to receive auto updates.

You can manually download the files and install them yourself if you know the right places to go.

I have links for both WFB and 40K sites that do updates for 2.2C if people are interested.

Personally i am a big fan of army builder 2.2c and use it to compile all my lists and play around.
40k- Space marines(5000 pts) Imperial guard (3000 pts) Tau (3000 pts)
Epic 40k-Space marines/Imperial Guard(2000 pts)

Could someone tell me how to use Battlescribe? I don't get on with Army Builder... too much wargear listing for me, needless clutter for my eyes.

On PC
Hit the link in jakaalbinoboy's post and download the free version. Open the application and it asks you for the data and gives you a few links where to find it. Lots of different sites. Once you downloaded the data file you import it once and you are done. It is intuitive.

On Andriod
No idea....still trying to work that one out! Huh

Iphone
You are not cool enough for this app. Tongue

I use Army Builder and Battlescribe but I'm yet to find any data for it that covers WoC in 8th ed. Fantasy (thats correct).

Thanks Vince, I just download the legit updates from Army Builder direct.

Army Builder Supplemental Downloads

It's BattleScribe I'm having trouble with WoC data for. I've tried two updates for BattleScribe and the WoC data is still wrong for 8th.
