Warhammer 40K Kill Team Campaign - LukeR - 23-02-2017

So, after talking with a number of people who seem interested in Kill Team, and a couple suggesting it might be fun to do a campaign.

I've got some basic narrative idea down (Involving a world falling to Chaos), but could use some input on what people would like to see.

I would like to ideally run this one night a month, for four or five months, looking to start April/May (Should give people plenty of time to get things painted!)

So, if you're interested, put down what faction you'd be looking to play, and answer the questions in the poll.

Update - 24/02/2017
Background
The planet of Torax is a Hive World, located near the Maelstorm on the Eastern Fringes, in the Garrilien System – one of the seven systems nominally under the control of the Chapter of Adeptus Astartes known as the Knights of Saret. A small recruiting keep is maintained on the world.

Lately, the planet which has always been a shining example of Imperial Rule, has seen a change. Frightened inhabitants whisper of Dark Creatures in the night which snatches people from their beds, and many strange cults have arisen. Recently, the planet, and the entire system has gone dark, with the governor and bureaucracy silent. Worse still, attempted communication with the recruiting keep has failed.

The System Lord Ba’al, has sent a message to the rest of the Lords of the Chapter to inform them of the situation. To determine the situation on the planet, a small team of the Knights have been sent to the planet, to re-establish communication, and if necessary to make surgical strikes in pre-preparation for invasion.

Update 10/05/2017
Because of the release of Shadow Wars Armageddon, the campaign will shift to those rules. Updating the player list now - if everyone who is interested can confirm their faction I'll add to the list below, once we have confirmed numbers and factions, I'll update with the teams and the map.

Happy to have a couple more players if anyone else wants to join in.

Update 30/05/2017
Teams are set up, when Dave confirms which side he wants to be on. I've got some other bits to send round soon. Still open for an 8th Player. MISSION BREIFINGS HAVE BEEN SENT - Feel free to begin discussions with your teammates.

As soon as I finish the map I'll upload it and then we can begin!

I'm kind of interested but can you give some more info on what kill team is as I've never played it or seen the rules etc.?

You build a 200 Point Force, and are limited on what you can take. No HQ, no 2+ Armour, no vehicles with combined Armour above 33, no MCs

You choose squads as normal, but each model acts independently. You also chose 3 Models as Specialists, which get to choose a bonus (there's quite a few).

Other than that it plays like a normal 40K game, except that it has its own missions.

Love a bit of kill team. Count me in Smile Could play as Imperial or Chaos depending on numbers.

Also, in terms of ranking up, have you seen the Heralds of Ruin kill team?

I made a thread not long ago. Thats got pretty much all the info you need.

Depending on numbers I could go imperial or not.

I have seen it, and was thinking of using a simplified version omitting some of the options. I'm keen to use the regular GW Kill Team Rules, as they are much simpler the HoR ones.

I've updated the original post with a bit of background - while I'm including my own Space Marine Chapter as a shameless excuse for fluff development Big Grin, I can play Imperial/Chaos/another faction depending on numbers (My Chapter Team can operate behind the scenes with no real impact except in the narrative!)

The campaign will either be a limited map campaign if I can make it work, or else a more narrative based campaign - I have a couple of pre-scripted missions planned.

Feel free to suggest other factions and don't feel constrained to Chaos/Imperial - for example there could be a Genestealer Cult/Tyranid Faction, an Aenari (Eldar Faction), a Disorder faction (Dark Eldar/Orks etc), any race could fit into a faction somewhere.

When I get an idea of numbers who wants to play what race, I'll be able look at this.

I'm up for this, I'll go Aenari Eldar! Can I get the rules online?

Here. The only things missing are Warlord traits and missions

Hey guys! So with Shadow War: Armageddon coming out, how about doing this instead? I've never played old Necromunda so don't have a frame of reference but it looks really interesting on this Miniwargaming video. It's still killteam-esque and has a campaign mechanic by the looks of things.
