Thanks Stuart!

Iron Warriors have taken a somewhat backseat at the moment while I paint up Daemons and there seems to be a sudden appearance of some bug-like critters roaming about!

Pink Horrors taking longer than I'd of thought they would and assembling 20 more Chaos Space Marines though the Slaaneshi temptation is great and those Sonic Blasters and Blastmasters look incredible! Would be awesome to get hold of some daemonettes and ..oh dear I am sensing Slaanesh on the horizon for some fluffy goodness!

I might of also placed a custom conversion order on some termagants with the added benefit of some painting tuition on the side!
Custom paint-scheme which will look absolutely amazing.

Needless to say, very excited for the coming months!

SAGA Vikings are also starting to take some colour to them in the form of muted colours and trying to keep things looking organic!

Perhaps the recent destruction of the Chaos Space Marine influx on the Astra Militarum Worlds and the following slaughter knocked a few screws loose but I am certainly one excited MiniWarGamer!

Great stuff, look forward to seeing them Dan.

The recent two day project has finally finished.
Defiler purchased for £20, no instructions.
Was really fretting it but must say I absolutely loved it!

Incoming pictures!

Weathering:

Started with a wash of Nuln Oil, applying Seraphim Sepia and Agrax Earthshade selectively to variate colour.

Moved onto Rust and Fuel Stains.

AK Interactives: Worn Effects Fluid, Fuel Stains, Rust Streaks
Modelmates: Rust Effect
Tamiya: Clear Red
Citadels: Typhus Corrosion, Stirland Mud

I love how it has come out. Fun little project and will be featured in the game this comin Tuesday as the Flash/ Mobile camera does not do it justice!

Few more Pics!

Certainly balancing the 'gore' aspects better with the more models I paint

[attachment=1228]

Love the blood and mud mixed on the ends of the claws!

Few little bits left to do.

On the underside I have tested my patience applying superglue to form small drips from the mechanical legs which I intend to grit up to give the appearance of fuel pouring out of this daemonic construct.

Tempted to play around with the eyes and vents, give the airbrush more of a workout and add some heat to the furnaces. Would it be too much?

Really feel I have the best of both worlds with Iron Warriors, Daemons and Tyranids.
Able to experiment with organic and mechanical painting, and fully immerse myself in various aspects.

Fluffwise: I know Iron Warriors are a mech-based army, and not fond of Daemons, but if there were someway in the legitimate fluff to bind them together before I go writing Backstory that would be awesome!

I am never sure about gore, you usually see it applied a bit too liberally without much thought.
Be interesting if you could get some flayed flesh hanging off in places.
I think my overall rating on this would be.... Horrible!

Nice job :-)

Thanks very much! I thoroughly agree with the gore. Often times it does get overdone without much thought.
Hopefully I struck the fine balance of making it believable and gory.
Excellent idea with the flayed flesh! Gives me chance to use that Nurgle Skin post Stuart made!
